What is a Business Coach?

A Business Coach is a one-on-one relationship aimed at helping the client, usually an entrepreneur or senior profit centre manager, achieve measurably enhanced profit through their organisation in the context of their personal strategic goal i.e. an IPO, MBO or outright sale of the business.

To do that, from the perspective of that strategic goal, a Business Coach helps the client focuses on areas in the businesstheir business and personal life that need improvement and creating an environment where an organization can see potential without being influenced or hindered by the past or current circumstances.

The success of a Business Coach is measured by specific enhancement to profit.

Like any coach, a Business Coach helps the client develop their own best solution by asking questions as opposed to giving the client advice.

Unlike a Mentor, a Business Coach does not need business expertise and experience in the same field as the client.
