He came to the Isle of Man in 1949, married
in Ramsey in 1951 and left the Island in 1953 to join Phillips
Electrical.
From
Phillips he went on to
ITT and Charterhouse,
becoming Managing Director
of the then struggling
Edmundson Electrical Company
in 1974. When he retired
back to the Isle of Man
in 1987, as a result of
his efforts and those
of his team, the company
was well on its way to
becoming the largest and
most profitable company
of its type in the UK.
In recognition
of his achievements he
was co-opted onto the
Industrial Policy Committee
of the CBI.
